Arrow Fold Card

Hi everyone! I am going way outside my comfort zone today. I have been working on a Fun Fold Card Technique called the Arrow Fold. It is easier than it looks. So I will attempt to lay out some clear instructions for the Arrow Fold Card.

I have noticed one thing about the Arrow Fold Card, it does not stand up well on it’s own. But that does not detract from the fact that this is a really cool looking card.

Here is my Thanksgiving card using the Arrow Fold.

Pumpin on arrow fold card

I know that you all know how to create the pumpkin. If not, see this earlier post for instructions. Here goes with my instructions for the Arrow Fold.

  • Thick Whisper White cardstock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
  • Cajun Craze cardstock: 4″ x 5″
  • Plaid Tidings DSP” 4-1/2″ x 3-3/4″
  • and whatever focal cluster you want to add to the point!

SCORING & CUTTING

Card Base

  • Mark the card at 2-3/4″ at the bottom edge of the card base front.
  • Mark each of the sides at 2-1/8″.
  • Score from 2-3/4″ to 2-1/8″ and 2-3/4″ to fold (4-1/4″).
  • Fold outer score line (2-3/4″ to 2-1/8″) upwards toward the center and crease sharply with a bone folder.
  • Fold the longer score line toward the inside of the card and crease sharply with a bone folder.
  • Your card base front should form an arrow.

  • Layer right angles and place on card as shown.

  • Layer larger triangles and center as close as possible (it is not absolutely perfect) on the front flap.

ASSEMBLY

  • Create and place your focal image on the point.
  • Stamp a message inside the card.
  • Customize the envelope and send it off.

I got a little better with the measurements. But this was the first attempt. TIP: Put a glue dot behind the ribbon tails and place them exactly where you want them to stay.
