Are you loving the gnomes? I have decided that my gnome needs to go to the beach. So today I pair him with the Whale of Time Designer Series Paper and the Smooth Sailing dies. Let’s go on a virtual vacation with my little beach gnome!
Here is his vacation photo.

- Thick Whisper White cardstock:
- 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored 5-1/2″
- 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ for frame use inside cut-out for gnome
- Whisper White cardstock: 5-1/4″ x 4:”
- Pretty Peacock cardstock: 3-3/4″ x 5″
- Whale of a Time DSP
- Granny Apple Green cardstock: 3″ x 4″
FRAME
- Using the Square Layering dies (2-7/8″ and 2-3/8″) cut a frame from Thick Whisper White.
- Cut a 2-3/4″ square ‘scene’ from the Whale of a Time DSP.
- Die-cut a ship’s wheel using the Smooth Sailing dies from any woodgrain DSP.
- Layer as shown.
- Add Dimensionals behind the frame.
SENTIMENT
- Stamp the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set in Craft Whisper White ink.
- Heat emboss with White embossing powder. TIP: If you let the ink dry, the embossing powder will not stick. Work rather quickly. I can usually stamp 3 or 4 before I add the embossing powder.
- Die-cut sentiment banner using the Smooth Sailing dies.
- Add Dimensionals behind sentiment banner.
SEAWEED
- Die-cut seaweed from Granny Apple Green cardstock using the Smooth Sailing dies.
- Use a sponge wedge or blending brush to distress the seaweed edges with Granny Apple Green ink.
GNOME
- Stamp the gnome on Thick Whisper White cardstock using Blushing Bride ink.
- Color with Stampin’ Blends. I messed up the beard. Did not like the Smoky Slate beard. The next step is my fix!
- Stamp beard on vellum using Craft Whisper White ink.
- Heat emboss with white embossing powder.
- Trim beard to fit.
- Attach embossed vellum beard with liquid glue.
- Fussy cut and lop off the mistletoe on the cap.
- Add Dimensionals to the back of the gnome.

ASSEMBLY
- Layer as shown.
- Add some clear epoxy droplets. I used retired glitter dots. A great substitute would be the Flowers for Every Season Gems.
- Customize the inside message panel and envelope.
I am not the best at using the Stampin’ Blends. Practice is helping. But if you make a mistake, most of the time it is repairable. Treat these gnomes like paper dolls. Don’t like the beard, make a new one! The moral of this story is ‘be kind to yourself!’

Love your card, and your unexpected use of the vacationing gnome! Great idea!
Thank you.The unexpected is good. 🙂
Your card made me laugh. I love the way you made a totally unexpected use of the nomes.
Laughter is good. These gnomes like to pop up everywhere!
Very, very cute card! Love it! Would you care to share how you did the Gnome’s shorts/swim trunks? Thank you for sharing!
What an adorable card! The gnome is so cute with the sea theme! Great job!
Thank you.
Absolutely. I used the Stampin’ Markers and Blends and just drew them on. I did a Garden Gnome and I stamped and cut out the garment (like paper dolls). I could have done the swim trunks that way too but I already had this one colored in.
Thank you so very much. Much appreciated.
These gnome cards are so cute. You convinced me that I needed to purchase this stamp set.
FUN!!
