Bearing Gifts of Christmas Cheer to All! Today, I was inspired by His Dark Materials trilogy of books written by Philip Pullman. I have a vague memory of a scene. The polar bear is walking with Lyra and Will across a large expanse with the moon in the background. It was a journey and the image stuck in my head. 🤣 So here is my Christmas card journey using the Bearing Gifts stamp set.

COLOR COMBINATION
I chose a traditional Christmas color theme.
PIECES & PARTS
This stamp set has one large image and sentiment. I stamped the image in Momento Tuxedo Black. And then I colored the image with Real Red, Old Olive Garden Green, and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Markers. Fussy cut the image as shown. TIP: You don’t have to cut the tight space between the children because the white moon is in the background. Use the Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend to add shadow and depth to the polar bear.
MASKING A BACKGROUND
Create the background by die-cutting or punching a 2-1/2′ circle from masking paper. Place the circle mask on the card panel. Use a torn piece of copy paper to mask off the bottom of the card panel. Use the blending brush to add Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue to the upper half of the card panel. Then place the torn copy paper at varying angles and lightly brush blue over the edges to create the undulating drifts.
ASSEMBLE THE CARD
Add Dimensionals to the back of the fussy cut image and add a red/white twine bow.
I framed my card panel in Real Red and placed it on a Real Red card base.
The inside sentiment is from the Greatest Part of Christmas stamp set. With a few extra gifts from the Trucking Along stamp set.
I found a scrap of red/white polka dot Designer Series Paper to add to the envelope flap. And now the Bearing Gifts of Christmas Cheer card is complete.
Now back to my stamp shelves to see what other underused treasure I can find….
