October 2022 InKing Royal Blog Hop Banner

Welcome to InKing Royalty’s October Blog Hop! Boo! Today we are sharing scary and sweet projects perfect for Halloween. We are excited to share our creations and hope you love them! After you read my post, I hope you’ll hop over to the next person on the list at the base of this post.

Today is a simple card using the Cottage Wreath bundle and the Alphabest stamp set. It is all about the arachnid.

Halloween wreath with 2 layers and a swinging spider
My daughter made this ghost sculture when she was in the 3rd grade. I love my little pieces of art.

I had fun with this one. The spider in the center of the wreath wiggles back and forth.

  • Cottage Wreath stamp set (Buy the bundle and save 10%)
  • Country Wreath dies
  • Alphabest stamp set

  • Thick Basic White cardstock:
    • Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
    • Card Front and Message Insert: 3-3/4″ x 5″ (2)
    • stamped images: 3″ x 6″
  • Basic Black cardstock:
    • Card Front Layer: 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • scraps for letters

  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad
  • Mango Melody or Pumpkin Pie ink pad
  • Versamark

  • White & Clear Embossing Powder
  • Heat Tool
  • Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
  • Paper Trimmer & Snips
  • Silver Thread
  • Dimensionals

Stamp and die-cut 2 wreaths on the Thick Basic White cardstock with Mango Melody or Pumpkin Pie ink. Use the Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp the spider. Then add Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

Cottage wreath pieces with their coordinating dies

Add spiders to the card front as shown and draw a ‘web’ line using a fine-tip journalling marker.

Stamp the letters with Versamark ink on Basic Black cardstock and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder. Free-hand trim little wonky letter blocks. Add Black Dimensionals behind the letters

To assemble the wreath, add Dimensionals in between the layers. Sandwich silver thread between 2 spiders. Wrap the free end of the silver thread around one of the Dimensionals and secure it to the face of the Dimensional. Your spider should jiggle and swing a little bit.

Add a simple message to the card insert. A few spiders will add a little creepiness. Put a spider or 3 on the envelope too. And now you have a Boo!-tiful card to send to someone for Halloween.

Did you notice some of the extra pieces that were not used in this project? Do you want to see what I created with them? Check back tomorrow for another wreath and spider card. And on Friday, I have a fun card for kids to make.
