I have been experimenting with some layering techniques. Today I will show you my Cheerful Daisies & V-Cutout layout and card.

My card today requires lots of die-cuts. So pull out your favorite foliage dies and the Cheerful Daisies dies and let’s get started.

Cheerful Daisies V-Cutout card

COLORS

I am using a blue, green, and white palette.

DIES, PUNCH, & EMBOSSING FOLDER

Here is a list of the dies that I used in this card. Feel free to substitute with your favorite flower or foliage dies. A bundle is listed if the dies come with a stamp set as a bundle because I do not want you to miss out on the bundle discount. But I did not use any of the stamp set, only dies!

I used some retired die sets, Christmas Trimmings and Brushed Bouquet dies, but you could use the Textured Florals dies to achieve similar results. And don’t be afraid to use those retired stamps and dies. You purchased them because they spoke to you. USE THEM!!

CREATING PIECES & PARTS

  • Die-cut pieces from Basic White, Old Olive, and Night of Navy cardstock. TIP: I would recommend making enough for 2 cards. The Petal Patterns die-cut will be cut in half, which will allow for another card.

  • Add Misty Moonlight and Old Olive ink to some die-cuts using a Blending Brush. (TIP: Hold the head of the Blending Brush between your thumb and forefinger for greater control. Tap the Blending Brush on the ink pad and tap onto scrap paper before adding to your project.)

  • Place Dimensionals behind the larger daisy. I put them in the center only so that I can tuck the foliage around with ease.
  • I used the gold More Dazzle DSP scraps to die-cut centers for my flowers and a couple of leaves.
  • TIP: Make layering easy by die-cutting the layering pieces using the Adhesive Sheet behind the Basic White.

THE V-CUTOUT

Use your Stampin’ Paper Trimmer to cut the V-cutout from the top of 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ Basic White cardstock. You will be covering up the center so don’t worry if your cuts do not align perfectly.

After making your V-cutout, emboss the card panel with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.

Add the Petal Patterns die-cut to the front of the card base and trim off the overhang. REPEAT TIP: I recommend making 2 cards at the same time to maximize the Petal Patterns die-cut.

ASSEMBLY

All the pieces for the daisy card: flowers and foliage

You now have lots of fun pieces to use for your arrangement for the Cheerful Daisies & V-cutout card. Put your largest 3 flowers on first, then add foliage by tucking it under the flowers. You can use glue dots or a few spots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. I find that using the tweezers helps me ‘shove’ the foliage under. TIP: It’s ok to trim off some of the foliage to fit your design!

FINISHED CARD

This is my second card because I took my own advice.

I added some Ombre Matte Decorative Dots to finish off my cards.

A little Exposed Brick embossing on the envelope flap and I am ready to add a sentiment when the occasion arises.

I hope that you enjoyed this Cheerful Daisies & V-Cutout card. This card layout is easy to apply to any floral arrangement or die bundle. Post your V-Cutout cards on my Facebook Page. I would love to see them😊
