I’m feeling kind of blue today. Not the bad blue, the color blue. 😊 I pulled out the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper (DSP) and let it guide my color choices. And the paper pairs beautifully with the Cheerful Daisy Bundle. Let’s take a look at the Cheerful Daisy birthday card that resulted from today’s playtime.
The Countyside Inn 12″ x 12″ DSP is a gorgeous collection of blue prints. The colors are
This Designer Series Paper is so awesome with the little bunnies, foxes, flowers, trees, and birds. It reminds me of Tula Pink fabrics. I think that this paper would also make some very cute baby cards or even a look-and-find card for a little one’s birthday.
The Cheerful Daisy Bundle (stamp set and coordinating dies) is perfect for easy layering. You can stamp layers or die-cut and stack. TIP: If you are die-cutting and stacking try using Adhesive Sheets. No more gluey messy fingers.
Are you ready for the unveiling of the card that I created?
CREATE THE PIECES AND PARTS
- Stamp the outline flowers on Thick Basic White cardstock with Night of Navy ink.
- Then stamp the ‘color fill’ using a 2nd generation stamp method. (Ink then stamp once onto scrap paper and then onto the project). I used Misty Moonlight and Boho Blue. Anything works, so do your thing.
- Die-cut the stamped daisies and some white ‘spiky’ branches.
- Emboss the 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ Thick Basic White card panel with the Countryside Blossoms embossing folder.
- I used some leftover strips of the DSP 4-3/4″ long and cut to 1/2″, 3/4″, and 1″ widths to create the background. Layer the strips in a random pattern that is pleasing to you. I like to leave a white space around the edges so my eyes don’t get overloaded with the patterns.
- Stamp the sentiment with Versamark and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Use one of the darker strips of the DSP. I used the HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the Artistically Inked stamp set. It is my favorite!
- Add some Dimensionals under one of the half daisies and between the large and small daisies.
- Layer it up as shown. TIP: When layering use glue dots to secure the ‘foliage’ behind the larger daisy. It doesn’t have to look pretty because you are gluing it down and no one will see it.
- Put some Dimensionals behind the sentiment and tuck one of the half daisies under the sentiment as shown.
- For a little bling, add some 2023-2025 In-Color Dots.
- Adhere your card panel to a Night of Navy card base (4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″).
- Don’t forget to create a card insert. I layered both the card insert and the envelope flap with a piece of the Countryside Inn DSP.
I have included all the links to products that I used at the end of this blog post.
ALTERNATE CHEERFUL DAISY BIRTHDAY CARD
I played with some gold accents for an alternative card. I used the gold foil foliage from a Paper Pumpkin kit (I think), and Gilded Leafing. Some of the embellishments were from Paper Pumpkin kits. There are always extra Paper Pumpkin embellishments and I highly recommend using them on your cards and projects.
An alternative to using the Gilded Leafing, try the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper. Create a frame for the card panel and die-cut some foliage from one of the many die options.

I hope that you enjoyed my Cheerful Daisy Birthday Card today. Any DSP will work as a base layer and then you just change the color of the daisies. So many possibilities.
Your cards always make me want everything you use to make them. Love your posts and all the added information.
Thank you. Your comments encourage me to keep creating and posting.
Ann, this is such a gorgeous card! I love the daisy set and blue is my favorite color. Thank you for sharing the details and your talent with us.
Thank you, Mary. I enjoy sharing and love seeing the creations of others. They are always an inspiration.
This card is spectacular. Love the blue combo.
Thanks, Charlene. I am having fun making monochromatic cards.
Ann, I agree with Brian that this is a gorgeous card in blues. I like the alternative card, with the gold mixed in. Enjoy your day!
Thank you, Hilda. The gilded leafing is really messy when the air is dry. I think I gilded myself. LOL!
These daisies are GORGEOUS in blues! Such a spectacular card, Ann!
Thanks, Brian.
