Welcome back. Today’s card is inspired by the inked Bird Ballad laser-cut notecard used in yesterday’s card project. If you missed it, you can check it out HERE. The sentiment from the Forever Blossoms stamp set, ‘Cherish every moment of this day’, is such a beautiful phrase. Take a moment to yourself today. Just breathe and relax your shoulders from the stress of the day. Smile, it truly helps to relieve the stress.
Grab that inked notecard from yesterday and let’s get started …
MEASUREMENTS (Supplies and Links are at the end)
- Bird Ballad Laser-cut notecard
- Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock: scrap for mounting sentiment and blossoms
- Crumb Cake Cardstock: die-cut branches
- Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (DSP)
- Whisper White Baker’s Twine: 13″
CREATING THE PIECES AND PARTS (use any die-cutting and embossing machine)
- Stamp the Blossom branch with Crumb Cake and die-cut.
- Color the Blossom branch with Stampin’ Blends. I used Calypso Coral (light/dark), Crumb Cake (light) and Old Olive (light)
- Fussy cut a bird with a branch and include some flowers. I cut off the leaves because they were too vivid for me.
TIP: I fussy cut an entire sheet and kept the pieces with the stamp set in a clear envelope to be ready for fast creating. Use an sharp craft knife to carve out the inner pieces of the bird and branch.
- Use light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend to tone down any white on the bird. We are looking for a ‘vintage’ feel.
- Stamp sentiment in Basic Gray on Very Vanilla and burnish edges with Crumb Cake. Tip: I trim the sentiment after stamping. Trim longer than the card and cut after layering. Then re-burnish the cut ends.
- Color white baker’s twine with Calypso Coral (dark) Stampin’ Blend.
- Die-cut curved branches (x2) from Crumb Cake.
ASSEMBLE CARD
- Add Dimensionals behind the blossom branch, bird and sentiment.
- Tie baker’s twine along notecard fold. I kept the bow near the sentiment to keep the eye on the sentiment.
- Layer as it pleases you.
- Rip the curved branches in half. Add some liquid glue and tuck into arrangement. I find tweezers really help here.
- Grab a coordinating envelope from the tin and add some decorative stamping. stenciling or cut some coordinating DSP for the envelope flap.
- Don’t forget to make an inside panel for your message. Cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel, stamp a sentiment and adhere to the inside of the card.
I added a little glimmer in the bird’s eye with a white gel pen after toning colors down with Stampin’ Blend.
MODIFICATION UPDATE:
This card would also look nice with the flower centers die-cut from Crumb Cake or Granite Gray added.

Do Something Creative Every Day,
Absolutely gorgeous, Ann! I love the sponging on the laser-cut paper. A beautiful collection of colors and images!
This was a 2 from 1 project. Using the stencil on a 2nd card is good for waste reduction. LOL! I am using the tin of cards that you gifted us 🙂 Thank you
