Hi everyone! Today we will use some of those tulips and leaves that we made last week. I was inspired by Su Mohr, a very talented fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. This Mother’s Day tulip card came together quickly. I love how the partial embossing and the rounded corners step up the design.

Does anyone remember the song by Al Dubin? Tip-Toe Thru’ the Tulips with Me? I can remember hearing it sung by Tiny Tim and it still makes me smile.

Tip-toe through the window
By the window, that is where I’ll be
Come tip-toe through the tulips with me

Tip-toe from the garden
By the garden of a lily tree
And tip-toe through the tulips with me

Knee deep in flowers we’ll stray
We’ll keep the showers away

And if I kiss you in the garden
In the moonlight, will you pardon me?
And tip-toe through the tulips with me

On with today’s project.

3 tulips on Mother's Day card

MEASUREMENTS (Supplies and Links are at the end)

  • Thick Whisper White Cardstock: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
  • Thick Whisper White Cardstock: scraps for tulips and leaves
  • Basic Black Cardstock: for embossed sentiment TIP: I have several of my most used sentiments stamped/embossed and ready to go
  • Scalloped Linen Ribbon: 12″

CREATING THE PIECES AND PARTS (use any die-cutting and embossing machine)

  1. Stamp 3 tulips and 6 leaves in several colors and punch. TIP: We got into tulip mode and stamped and punched several colors of tulips to use on future projects.
  2. Partially emboss card base with Scroll embossing folder. Use the lines on the embossing folder to line up your cardstock.
  3. Color the Scalloped Linen Ribbon that coordinates with your tulips. I used Purple Posy.
  4. Stamp and emboss the sentiment.

ASSEMBLE CARD

  1. Round outside corners of card using the Detailed Trio punch
  2. Use Tear-n-Tape along the edge of the embossing and add 6″ of ribbon. Trim even with card base.
  3. Adhere tulips with and without Dimensionals along the ribbon.
  4. Use Multi-Purpose Liquid glue and tweezer to tuck leaves into the bouquet.
  5. Add sentiment with mini black Dimensionals.
  6. Rip off the colored edge from the Scalloped Linen Ribbon and tie a bow. Attach with a glue dot.
  7. Grab a coordinating envelope and add some decorative stamping. stenciling or cut some coordinating DSP for the envelope flap.
  8. Don’t forget to make an inside panel for your message. Cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel, round the outside edges, stamp a sentiment and adhere to the inside of the card.
