Still having tons of fun with Cottage Rose Bundle. Today is all about texture and dimension. I wanted to create a 3-Dimensional Cottage Rose. To do that, we have to snip and stack. I gathered up some of my favorite products. The Adhesive-Backed Hexagons, the NEW Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper (DSP), and of course, the Cottage Rose Bundle.

Here is the Pretty Print Designer Series Paper (DSP). I used the lighter green. It works beautifully with Just Jade, Bermuda Bay, and Soft Sea Foam. I know, weird combo, but it works.

And here are the Adhesive-Backed Hexagons. They are in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. I suggest you get them now. They are so much fun. Not the same ol’ round embellishment (no offense – LOL!)

Where was I? Oh yes, here is the very textured card that I created. I am so tickled that the background looks like a lot of work and yet it is relatively simple thanks to the Pretty Prints DSP.

CREATING PIECES & PARTS

  • Stamp large flower image and sentiment from Cottage Rose stamp set onto cardstock using Craft White Ink or Versamark: Basic Black (1) and Flirty Flamingo (3)
  • Heat emboss with white embossing powder.
  • Die-cut heat embossed flower image on Black cardstock using the Cottage Flower dies.
  • Fussy cut the layers on the Flirty Flamingo embossed flower. This is the snip part … See photo.

TIP: To create the Dimensional Cottage Rose – Spritz the cut flower pieces with a light mist of water. Use the bone folder on the backside of the flower to ‘roll’ the petals. Crimp the petal tips. Let each piece dry completely before assembling (the stack part). Use Dimensionals under the petals to create additional depth.

  • Layer the Flirty Flamingo 3D flower onto the Black embossed flower cluster.
  • Emboss the Pretty Print DSP panel with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder.
  • Layer the Black cardstock and the embossed Pretty Print panels together and adhere to the Kraft Note Card front.
  • Arrange the flower cluster on the front panel and add hexagons.
  • Tie Black Baker’s Twine around the spine/fold of the notecard.

FINISH WITH A FLARE

Add a cute die-cut to the card insert and stamp a sweet sentiment. I did not add a sentiment to my notecard. Add some of the adhesive-backed outlines and admire your Dimensional Cottage Rose note card.

OH YES, THERE IS MORE

Next up, the Cottage Rose image is tinted with white watercolor pencils and layering. See you tomorrow…
