Look what I found in my flower stamp stack. The Beautiful Thistle stamp set and dies. It just begged to be paired with the Meandering Meadow DSP.

I used Beautiful Thistle bundle, Garden Meadow die, and Meandering Meadow DSP for this card. And colored the thistles with watercolor pencils in Night of Navy, Basic Gray, and Garden Green. The card base is Fresh Fresia. I had a few Dragonfly Trinkets to add for a little bling.

FACTIOD:

The most famous thistle is the Scottish thistle, the national symbol of Scotland. Legend has it that a thistle saved the Scots from a surprise attack by the Norsemen in the 13th century when one of them stepped on a thistle and cried out in pain. I am of Norse descent and find it hard to believe that they would cry out in pain. LOL!!

The Scottish thistle also represents the Order of the Thistle, Scotland’s highest honor of chivalry. The order’s motto is ‘Nemo me impune lacessit’, which means ‘No one provokes me with impunity’. This reflects the thistle’s defensive and resilient nature.

One of the most striking aspects of thistles is their color. They usually have purple or pink flowers, which contrast with their green leaves. Purple is a color that symbolizes spirituality, creativity, and nobility. Pink is a color that symbolizes love, compassion, and harmony.

I also created a 2nd card that uses the Beautiful Thistle bundle, Countryside Gardens dies, and Basics 3D Embossing Folder. The sentiment is in the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set. The colors are Gorgeous Grape and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends. Noble Peacock Rhinestones were added for a little bling. I flicked some black ink on the background and used a blending brush with a little residual blue ink to add color to the white panel. The dies layer nicely with a 1/4″ border but I wanted a thinner border so I carefully trimmed it down to 1/8″.
