I spent 10 fun-filled days in Jericho, Vermont with my dear friend, Dianne. It was the tail end of the leaf-peeping season but I was still regaled with some gorgeous fall leaves. The colors are indeed beautiful. Check out this view. By the time my 10-day trip was over, it was ‘stick season’. That is a term you don’t hear everywhere. š¤£š¤£

One of the things we like to do when we get together is to find obscure sites to visit. We headed to South Hero to check out a Castle Tour and microbrewery. Here is the map and a picture of one of the castles we found.

The miniature castles were created by Harry Barber.
We also spent time in Dianne’s craft room creating cards and organizing/using her extensive Paper Pumpkin collection.
GORGEOUS FALL LEAF CARD
This card was created using the Soft Seedlings stamp set.

I used the leaf from the Soft Seedlings stamp set. Use the Stampin’ Markers to add color to the leaf then spritz lightly with water and stamp the image on Thick Basic White cardstock. I used different combinations of these colors to make several card fronts.
Then I stamped some scatter dots in Pebble Path ink using the Gorgeous Leaves stamp set. TIP: To get a softer look with the scatter dots, use a 2nd generation stamping (also called ‘stamped-off) of the Pebble Path ink. The gold outline leaves are from the September 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit. (Love Paper Pumpkin for the pieces and parts š)
I wrapped the card front with Crumb Cake, Linen, and Blushing Bride twine. The sentiment is from the Pretty Pumpkin stamp set. I embossed it on Crumb Cake cardstock and used the Tasteful Label dies. TIP: Embossing powder does not last indefinitely. The embossing powder had a yellow tinge so instead of a crisp white, the color is more Whisper White or Very Vanilla. I think the effect is beautiful and works well in this design.
This card needed a little sparkle, so I added sequins from the Peaceful Poppies sequin collection. TIP: Put glue dots (from Paper Pumpkin kits) on the spot where you want the sequin. Then use the Take Your Pick Tool to place the sequins.

Isn’t this a beautiful sunset? I just barely caught it we were so busy looking for the miniature castles.š Those soft shades of Peach Pie, Pumpkin Pie, and So Saffron were inspiring.

The gorgeous fall card is beautiful! I was disappointed that I couldn’t print your excellent instructions. Am I missing a place to click on?
Thank you.
Joanie
I do not have any detailed instructions. Detailed instructions are one of the benefits of being my customer. I do have the general directions in the blog post that are detailed enough to create the card without measurements and step-by-step pictures.
Sorry for the delay in commenting, but that doesnāt lessen my admiration for this beautiful card. Just stunning. Always happy to see someone use beloved retired products. I am definitely in that camp.
As a Vermonter (okay, a transplantāI was not born in the state so the rules say I canāt claim to be a REAL Vermonter despite my 44 years living here), I am intimately aware of both the Jericho area and Grand Isle so I know your visit was particularly beautiful this fall. The colors were unsurpassed. Even if itās the season of the sticks (listen to Vermonter Noah Karanās āStick Seasonā if you donāt already know it), Vermont is such a special environment.
Thanks for sharing such great photosāhow many castles?!?
So nice to have hear from you. Thank you for admiring my cards. I took a look at all my retired stamp/dies and felt both guilty and sad that I had not used some of them. Their beauty is not diminished by their age.
You need to check out Snowflake Chocolates in Jericho. Tell them Ann Murray sent you (LOL!!) My current favorites (other than the truffles) are the dark chocolate coffee and cappuccino melts.
There were 6 castles but we only found 5. I think the 6th was hidden in the dinosaur/birdhouse forest.
I am already an over-eater of Snowflake Chocolatesāa good friend lives nearby (yeah, thatās my excuse and Iām sticking to it) so between in-person and mail-order, Iām already a frequent shopper. Will have to try the melts! My mouth is watering just thinking about themā¦.guess what I am off to do?!
I think that we should get together next time I am in Vermont.
Just beautiful Ann! As always! Glad you enjoyed your trip!
Usually visit Vermont in February with snow and slush. This was a real treat.
